Gambit beat NAVI to book semi-final spot

Hobbit and company are through to the semi-finals in DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 after taking down NAVI 2-1 in the upper bracket final. With the victory today, Gambit now has 3 consecutive series wins over s1mple and company from NAVI.  

Dust2: 8-16 | s1mple – 1.60 Rating – 103.0 ADR – 25-13 K/D 

Overpass: 16-7 | Ax1Le – 1.72 Rating – 117.0 ADR – 26-14 K/D 

Mirage: 16-13 | sh1ro – 1.84 Rating – 101.8 ADR – 34-10 K/D 

Both teams confidently won their own map pick before heading to the decider on Mirage. NAVI’s s1mple was on fire on Dust2 and wrapped up the scoreboard with a 1.60 Rating and 25 frags, while Gambit’s Ax1Le stole the show on Overpass where he topped the scoreboard with 26 frags and a 1.72 Rating. 

On the decider of Mirage, NAVI grabbed the two first rounds. But after that, Gambit came out with guns and a blistering pace to overwhelm NAVI and claim an 11-4 lead on the offense right before halftime. It seemed like the Gambit players were ready to quickly close the map and wrap up the series, but NAVI didn’t give up so easily and instead went in comeback mode, managing to lower their deficit to only two rounds at 13-15. Despite a good comeback attempt, sh1ro and company from Gambit closed out the nail-biting map, 16-13.
