G2 take first victory in Lisbon over Vitality

It was an early key match in Group A at BLAST Premier Spring Finals in Lisbon with G2 and Team Vitality going head to head in their opening match.

Both teams have been struggling during 2022, which made today’s matchup even spicier. Something that became evident during the match, was that more and more screams filled the hall where the players are playing the Group stage.

On Dust2 it was Team Vitality, who made the loudest noises. A stellar CT side gave way for a comfortable 16-10 victory for the roster after an excellent map by two of their French players, Mathieu 'ZywOo' Herbaut and Kévin 'misutaaa' Rabier.

Next up was Inferno. One of the only safe picks for G2 at the moment, which paid off big time. After a 10-5 half in favor of G2, it was 'm0NESY' who popped off in the second half to guide his team to a 16-8 win.

Vitality got an early 4-1 T side lead on the third and final map of Mirage. G2 were, however, able to turn the ship around, and led by 'NiKo', ended the half on a ten-round streak. It looked dire for G2 as they switched to the T side. They had a hard time finding openings, and Vitality was beginning to creep very close. All of a sudden it clicked for the G2 boys who ended the map and the series with five rounds In a row.
