G2 storms through Team Liquid in lower bracket elimination match

G2 avoided an early elimination from IEM Katowice with a solid 2-0 win against Team Liquid.

After yesterday's disappointing effort G2 found their rhythm in the match against the North Americans. On Vertigo it was Ilya 'm0NESY' Osipov who created a stellar defense alongside Nikola 'NiKo' Kovač. A 10-5 lead at halftime was quickly converted to a map win.

Up next was the Kovač playground on Mirage. The Bosnian Cousins Nikola 'NiKo' Kovač and Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač gave Team Liquid a very hard time. The NA team had to win the map to prolong their tournament life, but the opposition was simply too tough for Richard 'shox' Papillon and his new teammates. G2 won 16-5 on Mirage to qualify for the next round in the lower bracket, where NAVI or FURIA will be the next hurdle.
