G2 coach steps down: The passion became a burden
Jan "Swani" Müller will no longer be the head coach of G2 after the BLAST World Finals
The 28-year-old German, Jan "Swani" Müller announced the end of his G2 tenure as a head coach on Twitter.
The German coach has had immense success with G2 winning three of the biggest titles in the past year. BLAST World Finals 2022, IEM Katowice 2023, and IEM Cologne 2023 were all won by G2 after Swani joined the team before the BLAST World Finals 2022. Now the 2023 version of the tournament will be his last in charge of G2.
- Now the time has come to take care of myself and my loved ones. I gradually felt worse throughout the year and it has taken a big toll on me, so I made the decision to step back. Thank you for trusting an unknown German kid with the keys to G2, I will be eternally grateful for the memories I made along the way. I got to travel the world with my boys while living my hobby. But once the passion becomes a burden, it is time to end it, Swani writes on Twitter.
Before Swani the two Frenchmen Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam and Damien "maLeK" Marcel have had stints as the head coach for G2. There is no news about who will be the new head coach of G2.
