G2 sign m0NESY – Report
The 16-year-old Russian is set to join the French-Balkan mixture as the team’s main AWPer.
The French-Balkan mixture, G2 have reportedly signed the 16-year-old Russian rising star Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, according to a report by 1pv.cs. According to 1pv.cs’ sources, G2 and NAVI have finally reached an agreement regarding the transfer of m0NESY and the 16-year-old will be joining G2 for a sum upwards of $600.000.
m0NESY is without a doubt one of the most hyped young players on the CS:GO scene right now and has caught the eyes of many players and organizations due to his incredible skills in-game. The Russian teenager will get the opportunity to prove himself on the big stage and will discover the high level of CS:GO as a starter with the third highest-ranked team in the world, who have been without an AWPer since Kenny “kennyS” Schrub was moved to the bench back in March.
There could be even more moves on the way in the G2 camp as the organization has expressed interest in Robin “ropz” Kool, who would be deciding his Counter-Strike future between G2 and FaZe after denying offers from Liquid and Vitality, according to Alexey “OverDrive” Birukov.
1pv.cs also reported earlier that G2 had shown interest in OG’s IGL Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, but OG doesn’t seem open to letting their captain go.
While the Kovac brothers are safe, it seems that the French duo of Francois “AmaNEk” Delaunay and Audric “JACKZ” Jug are in danger, with the former being the player most likely to leave, while JACKZ has more credit at the moment. Both of the Frenchmen’s contracts are set to expire at the end of 2021 and the two haven’t yet been offered renewals according to a report by French outlet aAa in late November.
