G2 secures themselves another game at the BLAST World Final!

The Major winners from IEM Rio in Outsiders took on G2 in a winner advances to the quarter-finals, losing team is eliminated.

G2 surprised in the veto by picking Inferno, a map pick which Outsiders have been looking unstoppable on since their match against Liquid yesterday. It quickly seemed like a good idea from the G2 side as the mixed European team found early success. 0-6 up was hooXi and co. before outsiders started to win rounds on the CT side. Despite Outsiders winning four rounds out of five, G2´s T side was too strong for Outsiders who ended up giving G2 11 rounds. Switching over to the T side made Outsiders look more comfortable. The newly crowned majors winners tried their best to fight back a comeback, but a 9-12 comeback wasn't enough as G2 won some crucial ECO rounds to take important round wins and a victory on Inferno 11-16.

Mirage was up next with Outsiders starting out on the T side. Mirage came out as a really bad pick from Outsiders as the team saw themselves crumble totally. G2 started out as fire with jks hitting everything and the Rookie Of The Year m0NESY killing everyone with both the AWP and the M4A4. A fast first half ended with total domination as G2 took down the major winners 15-0 on the CT side. A potential 16-0 was on the line before n0rb3r7 made and smoke defuses to make it 15-1. A force came in for G2 in the second round of the second half, and with two fast opening kills, G2 took the map win 16-1 and their first win at the BLAST World Final 2-0.
