All European teams ready for playoffs at CS Asia Championships 2023
Astralis and FaZe booked a direct spot in the Semi-Finals.
The Group Stage at CS Asia Championships ended as expected with two of the three Chinese teams knocked out.
In Group A both TYLOO and Lynn Vision fell short against ENCE and Astralis in the opening round. The two home crowd favorites faced each other in the lower bracket, where Lynn Vision came out on top after three very competitive series.
Shortly before that ENCE and Astralis had fought for a direct place in the Semi-Finals. A 2-1 victory for Astralis did not tell the full story of the match, which was strangely uneven despite the scoreline. Astralis won 13-2 on both Overpass and Ancient to dominantly win the match, while they lost 10-13 on Vertigo. Victor "Staehr" Staehr played a strong series which is good news for Astralis fans. The former Sprout player has not been delivering what was expected after he joined the roster this summer, but perhaps the tournament in China can turn the table around for the young Rifler.
In Group B it took FaZe 53 rounds to finish off Ninjas in Pyjamas in the opening round. The five-time overtime win saw FaZe advance to the upper final, where they eventually reverse-swept MOUZ to win the group.
Wings Up and Ninjas in Pyjamas played in the lower bracket, but it didn't take long for NIP to eliminate Wings Up who were sent home with a 13-6, 13-6 loss.
The final six teams will have a day of rest on Friday before the playoffs begin on Saturday.
