Entropiq edge out Movistar Riders to go 2-1 up at PGL Stockholm
The CIS team now has two chances to qualify for the next stage.
After a victory and a defeat at Day 1 yesterday, both Entropiq and Movistar Riders had the opportunity to take a big step towards qualification for the legend stage at the PGL Major in Stockholm. A win in today's matchup would guarantee the winner two BO3 matches to try and qualify.
For only the second time in the Major, Mirage was selected as the decider map in the bo1 match. Here Entropiq got off to an excellent start leading 8-2 early on. But Movistar Riders has proved to be a difficult team to face, and the Spaniards once again showed, that they are not a team to push around with. From 2-8 down, Movistar Riders fought back to equal the score at 11-11 despite a lackluster performance from Alejandro "mopoz" Fernández-Quejo Cano who normally is one of the top-fraggers on the team. Instead, Alejandro "ALEX" Masanet Candela took up arms to try and defend the Spanish colors but in vain. Entropiq turned up the heat in the end and secured themselves the very important win.
Movistar Riders will now have their backs against the wall in the upcoming fixtures, where they will have to win to in a row to qualify.
