donk claims MVP award in first LAN event
The 16-year-old Spirit rifler continued his impressive run in CS2 with a trophy in Dubai.
BetBoom Dacha 2023 ended in total glory for Team Spirit with a reverse sweep victory in the Grand Final against Virtus.pro. The Russian derby started with Virtus.pro in control. VP won the first two maps before the match headed onto Vertigo, which was Jame and company's map pick. But here Spirit woke up and plowed through their opponents with Artem 'ArtFr0st' Kharitonov, Boris 'magixx' Vorobiev, Myroslav 'zont1x' Plakhotia, and Danil 'donk' Kryshkovets in top form. A 13-3 win on Vertigo was followed up by an equally impressive map on Mirage, where Spirit once again dominated Virtus.pro.
Anubis was the decider and here it took Spirit a little longer to settle the score. Danil 'donk' Kryshkovets was the star of the team on the decider map, where the 16-year-old showed why he is considered the next big thing in Counter-Strike. With 28 kills on Anubis "donk" swayed the match Spirit's way to seal the tournament win and the $180,000 that followed.
After the match, the young Russian prodigy was hailed as the MVP of the tournament. Danil 'donk' Kryshkovets delivered a spectacular debut tournament on LAN with a 1.31 rating on average in 13 maps.
