Defending Champions eliminated from IEM Katowice
Team Liquid broke FaZe's dreams of repeating their win from last year.
A new champion of IEM Katowice will be crowned on Sunday when the Grand Final of IEM Katowice will be played after FaZe got eliminated today by Team Liquid.
The two teams faced each other in the lower bracket final of group A, where the winner would advance to the quarter-finals of the event. The win for the NA team came after they actually lost the first map of Inferno 16-14. Liquid bounced back and won Overpass and then Mirage. The last map was a big brawl between the two teams that could have gone both ways. For Liquid it was Mareks 'YEKINDAR' Gaļinskis who finally came alive in this tournament to carry his team to a huge win.
Team Liquid will be back in action on Friday, where they will face Team Vitality in the first quarter-final.
