BLAST Showdown: Day 1 breakdown
Two huge upsets saw Astralis and Liquid leaving the event
OG vs. Astralis 2-0
The first Bo3-series of the event saw Astralis taking on OG. Whilst we have almost come to expect the greatest possible from the Danes, yesterday was a different story. The side of Astralis looked flustered and sluggish when facing a new-look OG roster. Despite a close second map on Dust 2, the Danish giants had to see themselves bested by OG 2-0.
G2 vs. Endpoint 2-0
The second Bo3-series was between G2 and Endpoint. The side of Endpoint has shown success recently, but it was seemingly too much to handle a G2 roster in form. With "NiKo" leading the scoreboard he managed to carry his team to a 2-0 victory against Endpoint.
Dignitas vs. Liquid 2-0
The third and final Bo3-series of day 1 was set to be a battle between Dignitas and Liquid. To no one's surprise, the favorite going into the series was Liquid. However, you are never to count out legends such as "f0rest" from the game. The Swedes managed to defeat "FalleN" and his teammates on Liquid with an impressive 2-0 victory.
