Astralis Favored to Win First Six-Figure Prize Pool in Three Years

Astralis, once accustomed to six-figure paydays, dominated the Counter-Strike scene at the end of the 2010s with four Major wins and numerous A and S-Tier tournament victories. However, their last significant payout was in January 2021 at the BLAST Global Final 2020.

Now, the substantial $200,000 first prize at YaLLa Compass 2024 has drawn top teams like Astralis, HEROIC, Complexity, and FURIA to Abu Dhabi. Astralis, the highest-ranked team at the event, is considered a favorite alongside the CCT Global Finals 2024 winner, Eternal Fire.

The event features two groups of six teams, each competing in best-of-one (bo1) matches. Group winners will advance directly to the semi-finals, while the 2nd and 3rd placed teams will battle it out in the quarter-finals on Friday.
