The Baltic trio of death: Watch their best highlights
Once again the Baltic gang of ropz, Bymas, and Broky delivered some spectacular Counter-Strike at DreamHack Masters Winter. We have taken a closer look at the trio.
Today we set our eyes on the Baltics. With the amazing performance from Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras at Sunday's Grand Final at DreamHack Masters Winter, the 17-year old Lithuanian player has elevated himself into a new category of players.
There he joins the likes of Robin "ropz" Kool and Helvijs "Broky" Saukants, who has already proved themselves on the big scene. Together they represent a flourishing CS:GO scene from the Baltics.
Name: Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras
Age: 17
Nationality: Lithuanian
"Bymas" is the latest star coming out of the Baltic CS:GO scene. He started his career as many others in the FACEIT Pro League, where he was discovered by Bosnian Superstar NiKo, who in an interview with HLTV described him as follows.
- There is this guy Bymas from FPL who really surprised me. I watched him a couple of times, and I think he's pretty good and a pretty versatile player. He's not going to be in the top 20 next year, but I believe he's going to be a big thing.
A few months later he was picked as a temporary replacement for the legendary Olofmeister on FaZe Clan in May 2020. The young Lithuanian played for the team until the end of June, where he was replaced by former Major winner Kjærbye. Though the stay at FaZe was difficult, the young Lithuanian showed glimpses of his huge potential. It was enough to secure him a contract at mousesports, who signed the young riffler. Here the Danish in-game leader Karrigan has taken him under his wings. A move that has matured Bymas and stabilized his performances. In the last 24 competitive maps, he has scored a rating above 1.0 in 20 of the maps against the likes of Astralis, Heroic, Cloud9, and GODSENT. There is no doubt, that the future is bright for the Lithuanian.
Name: Robin "ropz" Kool
Age: 20
Nationality: Estonian
So good, that people accused him of cheating. Like Bymas, ropz also started his career online at the FACEIT Pro League. Here he dominated so hard, that a lot of the veterans at the scene accused the newcomer of cheating. It got so bad, that ropz agreed to go to the headquarters of FACEIT to prove, that he was actually just insanely good at the game. The Estonian was cleared, and the road to success was paved for the young prodigy. He joined mousesports in April 2017, where he replaced NiKo in the starting lineup. Since then he has won eight titles with the organization and ranked as a top 20 player in the world for the last two years in a row.
Name: Helvijs "broky" Saukants
Age: 19
Nationality: Latvian
With his AWP, broky has quickly made a name for himself after joining FaZe Clan. Here he has been one of the few spotlights at the deteriorating team showing his consistency and skills. The Latvian has been the highest-ranked player for FaZe Clan in the last two events despite being the youngest on the roster.
