XANTARES on early exit: We have performed below our capacity
Eternal Fire could not live up to the expectations at YaLLa Compass 2024.
With only one win in five matches, Eternal Fire’s journey at the YaLLa Compass 2024 in Abu Dhabi ended prematurely at the group stage. The Turkish team entered the tournament in high spirits after their victory at the CCT Global Finals, but on the LAN stage in the UAE capital, they only managed to defeat BIG.
Following the disappointing exit, Eternal Fire’s star rifler İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş addressed the result on Twitter:
- We have performed below our capacity in these days when the expectations from us have increased. I want you to know that we did the best we could and we're as upset as you are. We'll rest with a short player break and come back stronger. We'll keep fighting for new goals! See you in the new season.
Despite this setback, Eternal Fire’s season has been marked by significant achievements, including a deep run at the first CS2 Major in history in Copenhagen and a $250,000 victory at the CCT Global Finals 2024 last month. The roster has remained together for over a year now, marking the most stable period in the history of the Turkish team.
