Fnatic best Eternal Fire to secure the last playoff spot in Group A
Eternal Fire is out of ESL Pro League Season 17.
The stage was set when Eternal Fire took upon fnatic in a Group A 4th place decider match. The winner advances to playoffs round 1, losing team is eliminated.
Starting the series best was fnatic as they managed to win the first pistol round of Inferno. However, Eternal Fire bounced back on the ECO round and gained a 7-2 lead after the first nine rounds. Despite a little comeback towards the end of the first half for fnatic, Eternal Fire was too strong for the mixed European team on the CT side. Eternal Fire won Inferno 16-9.
Next up, Overpass. It was a close encounter between the two teams who fought their absolute best to keep their playoff hopes alive. Behind 15-13, Eternal Fire came back and secured overtime. However, fnatic had ice in their veins going into the overtime. Fnatic won Overpass 19-15.
To close out the series Nuke was left open as the decider. After a long match that got post-noted three times, fnatic was the team to come out on top and secure a playoff spot. With an 11-4 T side in favor of fnatic, Eternal Fire couldn't make the comeback happen on the T side despite getting all the way up to 13.
