Thorin picks his Non-Astralis Danish Dream Team
If you put aside Astralis, what would be your Danish Dream Team?
Denmark is by many professionals in the Counter-Strike scene regarded as the best Counter-Strike country in the world. With the likes of Astralis having reigned supreme for many years and Heroic claiming a number one spot in the world this year, it is perhaps difficult to argue otherwise. But if you put aside Astralis and their players, what would the perfect Danish Dream team look like?
For this fictional team's IGL (In-game Leader) CS:GO analyst Thorin decides to pick Finn "karrigan" Andersen. He explains his choice by saying:
"He is among the best to have ever played the game, from any country. This is a guy that is amazing at using quality pieces and star players to their strengths and moving them around to make the star players even better."
Many would have chosen Benjamin "blameF" Bremer as their choice for an In-game Leader after his impressive year and individual capabilities, Thorin decides to include him in the team as well, however, not as an in-game leader but instead as a lurker role and secondary caller.
As an anchor-player for the team, he chooses Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså. "valde" has for many years been a name you would have to mention when talking Danish Counter-Strike and whilst he is currently performing well at OG, Thorin states that he could be doing even better. He even compares him to some of the top-tier players saying:
"I actually think he is like Xyp9x with even better aim."
As an established entry-fragger he goes for the experienced player in Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke. And to round off the team, Thorin picks Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand as his star player, playing the role of the team's AWP'er.
The roster ends up looking something like this:
Karrigan (In-game Leader)
BlameF (Lurker/Secondary caller)
Valde (Anchor player)
K0nfig (Entry-fragger)
AcoR (AWP'er)
Whilst it is, of course, only fictional it is interesting to imagine what could someday be another Danish team on the levels of Astralis. What would your Danish Dream team look like? Watch the full video here:
