Astralis sign OG coach
Casper "ruggah" Due will take over the reins as head coach for Astralis.
Astralis announced the signing of Casper "ruggah" Due today after a month without a coach after the departure of Peter "casle" Ardenskjold in December 2023.
Casper "ruggah" Due is currently OG's coach and is still under contract until the 1st of April. Until then the team's current assistant coach, Mathias "R0nic" Pinholt, will act as the team's coach, Astralis states in a press release.
For almost four years, Casper "ruggah" Due has been the head coach of OG and has previously worked with OpTic, North, and Dignitas.
- I am happy that we have come to an agreement with Casper, who, in addition to being a really skilled coach, comes with experience from the highest level. This is one of our priorities in the larger analysis work we have done around the requirements for a coach in Astralis and our culture, as well as the expectations we have for all members of our coaching team, Kasper Straube, Sports Director, Astralis says and continues.
- I feel that we have been thorough in mapping out the requirements in relation to both short-term needs and long-term development, and the choice has fallen on Casper, who, in terms of personality and approach to team management, is almost a perfect match. I am very much looking forward to working with him.
Alexander "ave" Holdt, Martin "trace" Heldt, and Peter "casle" Ardenskjold have all had stints as coach for Astralis since Danny "zonic" Sørensen left the organization at the end of 2021.
