With legendary players such as Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, Finn "karrigan" Andersen, and Sean "seang@res" Gares (albeit a very short stint) on their previous rosters, Team SoloMid or TSM has set their mark on the world of CS:GO. But since TSM's departure from Counter-Strike in late 2016, there has been silence surrounding the American Organization that has been active in multiple other esport-titles.

Yesterday a new generation of TSM players were announced on X.

The new international team will consist of a mixture of experience and youth. Audric "⁠JACKZ⁠" Jug and Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså will spearhead the project with the two 20-year-olds Cai "⁠CYPHER⁠" Watson and Mădălin-Andrei "⁠MoDo⁠" Mirea to provide additional firepower. CYPHER makes the move from Into the Breach, where he was one of the most exciting prospects coming out of the BLAST.tv Major in Paris, where the British team surprised everyone by reaching the playoffs. Romanian AWP'er MoDo is set to make his debut in the Tier-1 scene after having played for Nexus since December 2022. Lastly, the former Cloud9 player Timofey "⁠interz⁠" Yakushin gets a chance to prove his worth on an international team.

Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså is no longer an active member on ENCE with the Danish rifler having been put on the bench, the Finnish organization revealed yesterday. That means valde is set to depart the team less than six months after joining the Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer-led squad.

- We have reached the conclusion to bench valde due to differences in his playstyle compared to the rest of the team. Unfortunately, it hasn’t clicked as well as we had hoped during the past six months, ENCE GM, Niklas "Willkey" Ojalainen explains.

And with Nertz not representing Endpoint in the ongoing Major qualifiers doesn’t make a potential transfer more unlikely. 

ENCE has informed that they will play with their academy player Henri "⁠HENU⁠" Ylilehto in their upcoming matches at CCT Central Europe Malta Finals.

For the first time since May 2021, ENCE has been crowned champions of a tournament.

Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and his men won CCT North Europe Series 2 with a 2-0 victory against HAVU. ENCE took home $22.000 for winning the online tournament.

ENCE had to work hard for victory after losing the first halves on both Ancient and Dust2. On Ancient it was an excellent CT half from {cflag:ES} SunPayus, {cflag:DK} valde, and {cflag:ME} Maden that helped ENCE recover to force the match into overtime. Here ENCE came out on top and won the map 19-17 after a stellar ace from Maden.

HAVU made a nice recovery on Dust2 and took an 11-4 lead into the second half. But here they crumpled once again allowing ENCE to find a way back into the match. Again it was the duo of Maden and valde who turned up big for ENCE. It ended with a narrow 16-14 win for ENCE, who won the tournament after being directly seeded into the playoffs.

2 months ago, ENCE announced the addition of 27-year-old Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså to their active roster on a transfer from OG, where the Dane spent three months on the bench. The 27-year-old Dane was tired of missing Majors, and didn’t hide the fact that this was a big factor in his decision to search for a new team and sign for ENCE.

Recently, the Dane did an [link:{"url":"https://www.dust2.dk/nyheder/31761/missede-majors-var-draaben-for-valde","isNewTab":true,"text":"interview with Dust2.dk"}], in which he revealed that he turned down “much better financially offers” to join ENCE. Before moving to ENCE from OG in the summer break, there were reportedly rumors going around about a possible transfer to both Evil Geniuses and Astralis.

The 27-year-old Dane is currently preparing for the IEM Rio Major 2022 event that is set to run from Oct 31st – Nov 3rd.

The new-look ENCE squad featuring the two fresh additions of Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia and Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså has started to heat up. The European mix arrive at ESL Challenger Rotterdam with an impressive result in the bag from RMR, where they managed to secure a Legend spot at the Rio Major.

For valde speaking, the transfer to ENCE has meant a comeback for the Danish rifler who had not featured in an official match since April this year. In an interview with ESL, valde talks about his role in the team and how his new captain is placing a lot of responsibility on him.

- I think so yeah [valde said when asked if we’ll see him on his top level again]. I have some good roles in the team, and I know Snappi puts a lot of trust in me. Yeah obviously, I got to perform as well, but at the end of the day we are five individuals in the team, and I don’t think you’ll win any tournament if everyone is not performing.

- It’s a team game at the end of the day and we all got to put up our best individual level to win.

ENCE kicked off their ESL Challenger Rotterdam campaign with a convincing 16-5 victory over TeamOne in the opening round. Regarding their expectations to win the entire tournament, valde said the following. 

- I wouldn’t say it would be a big disappointment not to win the event, but obviously, we are here to win. Going 3-0 in the RMRs was a big deal for us after the ESL Pro League results. So I think it’s just about showing some good Counter-Strike and refining our game.

It has been said several times doing the last couple of years, that Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen is a master of micromanaging his teams. And maybe to a degree, where it has been too much. In a talk show with Duncan "Thorin" Shields, the former teammate of Aleksib, Valdemar "valde" Vangså explained why it could seem, that the Finnish in-game leader is talking and guiding his players a lot during rounds.

- We probably did not have the most vocal team back then (On OG) with Issa "ISSAA" Murad and Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski who did not say much. If you have a 3vs3 situation where Aleksi is dead and he is spectating. If nobody is saying anything, then he obviously feels like the round will be lost if he doesn't jump in and interfere and start micromanaging. But I don't think he wants to micromanage as an in-game leader. Let's say that he has three or four players who could actually talk a lot on their own, I don't think he would do this micromanaging style.

Earlier this year when Valdemar “valde” Vangså was on the bench at OG and Astralis were struggling to find a decent form, rumors emerged about a potential transfer between the rifler and the Danish top team.

As history shows, the move never happened with valde joining forces with Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer on ENCE instead. valde was unveiled as a new ENCE member two weeks ago alongside the powerful AWPer Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia. The word "onliners" is often used to describe players or teams, who have difficulties performing at LAN events in CS:GO. We have looked at the stats from 2022 to see which players has the biggest drop in performances from online to LAN. We have taken all players with a minimum of 10 maps on both LAN and online against top 30 opponents.

There is obviously a lot of ways to interpret these stats. First of all it is worth mentioning, that even though the filter is set to top30 teams, there will in general be more games against top20 and top10 teams in LAN events. There is still not a lot of tier2 tournaments being played on LAN, which makes it hard to make a direct comparison. 

Therefore we asked Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen to take a look at the demos from Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen, Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás, and Florian "syrsoN" Rische with the latter being dubbed an onliner several times before in his career.

Today OG announced another change to its roster. Two weeks ago it was Valdemar "valde" Vangså, and now the turn has come to his Danish teammate Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen.

The announcement was expected after multiple rumors had put the Dane on the transfer list. The tweet from OG was followed up by this text.

Ever since "device" left Astralis to join NiP, the Danish powerhouse by the name of Astralis has had issues finding their previous form and proving that they are in fact still one of the best teams in the world of professional CS:GO. With the recent disappointing run at the PGL Major 2022 in Antwerp, failing to reach the top 16 teams for the first time at a major since 2016, we are left with a feeling that something needs to change in order for Astralis to become one of the best teams in the world once again.

But what needs to change within the Astralis camp for them to finally cement themselves as a real challenger to the likes of Natus Vincere, G2, and Gambit? When looking at the recent performance one thing, or rather one player stands out - "blameF". The hulk of Counter-Strike didn't fail to impress, even when the rest of his team was looking severely troubled. Ending the Challenger stage at the PGL Major with an impressive rating of 1.42, it is clear that he is not the problem when it comes to the seemingly tired Astralis roster. 

In addition, the somewhat reckless star-rifler of Astralis in Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke has proven himself capable of winning otherwise challenging series all by himself. With an average rating of 1.14 in the past three months, "k0nfig" has proven himself, all be it unreliable at times, to be the x-factor that Astralis has needed in dire times. Furthermore, "k0nfig" has played an instrumental part in making Ancient one of the strong suits in the Astralis arsenal. Averaging a rating of 1.29, the explosive Dane has been the 9th. best Ancient player in the past three months. 

So if it isn't "blameF" or "k0nfig", the newest additions alongside the team's primary AWP'er in "Farlig" that is the problem, what is Astralis missing? When looking at the numbers it becomes apparent that two individuals on the Astralis roster have been failing to reach the desired level of performance that is required in today's competitive climate. All be it carrying more tactical and less flashy roles, "gla1ve" and "Xyp9x" have struggled with their own individual performances as of late. 

Whether or more explosive support-player in exchange for "Xyp9x" or perhaps a structural change seeing a new IGL instead of "gla1ve" is needed, a player that could give Astralis exactly what they need is Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså.

The 26-year-old Dane has just been benched at OG and could perhaps be looking toward a new home over at Astralis if a change to the roster is desired. In addition to being extremely versatile and previously willing to fill multiple roles and responsibilities, "valde" could bring the needed firepower to the currently lacking Astralis roster. 

What the future holds for the struggling Astralis roster, as well as the now benched "valde" is still unsure. Could "valde" be the missing piece to the Astralis puzzle? Has the time finally run out for "Xyp9x" and "gla1ve"? One thing is for sure, if Astralis wish to be the CS:GO giants they once were, a change is needed. 

After rumors circulating about "valde"s future in OG it is now official that the two sides have parted ways. The Dane was a part of the team for more than two years, with both highs and lows throughout. There has been no official statement about "niko" who was also rumored to be leaving OG.

In an interview with Dexerto, the 26-year-old rifler revealed that the team wanted to rebuild with some younger pieces, which was not something that he wanted to be a part of, and understandably so seeing as he has been playing at a high level for many years now.

"mantuu" is now the only player left from the original team that also counted "Aleksib", "NBK-", "ISSAA", and of course "valde".

OG's results in 2022 have been disappointing, to say the least. They placed last as IEM Katowice and then failed to qualify for the major after losing to teams such as Eternal Fire and forZe.

The team swapped IGLs with G2 at the end of January, and now just four months later they will be benching the two Danes of the team: "valde" and "niko" according to reports from 1pv.fr.

"valde" has been a part of the team since its birth in 2019 while "niko" joined in 2021 as the replacement for "NBK-".

The 26-year-old rifler in Valdemar Bjørn "valde" Vangså has been regarded as one of the brightest stars in the Danish Counter-Strike scene for what seems like an eternity. Whilst he is yet to reach the heights that many predicted him to reach in the early stages of his career he has proven that with hard work and consistency comes results. 

But how did it all start for the Dane? In an interview with Betway Esports, the OG player explains how his journey in the Counter-Strike scene started. From being a young talented player to becoming a Counter-Strike professional - it all started with six months: 

"After I finished college I spent six months in the military and I just felt it wasn't something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So I made an agreement with my dad to have half a year where I could just stay at home full-time and just play CS all the time. I think having that pressure taken off your shoulders from not having to go to school at the same time or not having to work but just literally sit at home 24/7 playing video games, really helps you develop your game."

That’s the number of days since Astralis’ last tournament victory. After taking home the trophy at IEM Global Challenge back in December 2020, the Danes haven’t achieved anything near what they did in their glory days.

The renowned CS:GO analyst and expert, Jacob ”Pimp” Winneche, has also expressed some concern on Astralis’ current roster and direction in a recent episode of “Pimp Talks” on his YouTube. The former pro player pinpoints Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth and his declining individual level as one of the most worrying factors for Astralis.

- I do have more faith in Xyp9x than most people have. But I am also willing to say that unless Xyp9x plays well at the next Major or finds a way not to be a liability within Astralis for the next 2-3 months, I think he’s the next guy to get cut, Pimp said and continued to talk about potential solutions for the Danish heavy hitter.

- In terms of Danish rifling talents, there’s actually quite a lot. (…) You can definitely find someone who can replace Xyp9x. You can just buy out valde from OG if you had the money – that would be a fantastic fit for Astralis and would instantly make them title-contenders in my opinion.

The 26-year-old Dane has been one of OG's best players and one of the scene's most powerful rifle players since he joined back in late-2019. However, the trophies have failed to appear for OG and valde, with Spring Sweet Spring 2 being his only title with the team.

On Tuesday more than 750 CS:GO teams kicked off the first qualifying stage for the upcoming PGL Major Antwerp. Within the massive pool of registered teams, there was superstar teams like OG, BIG, and Fnatic but also completely unknown lineups, fielding nonprofessional players.

After the first day, only 16 team remains in contention for the four important Europe RMR spots. The big teams managed to dodge the upset, where the newly-benched Fnatic AWPer, Owen “smooya” Butterfield and his mix also was able to make it through.

OG remains undefeated in 2022 with six won matches taking out ENCE in a two-map series on Mirage (10-16) and Ancient (9-16).

The first map in the clash between OG and ENCE started with ENCE’s map pick on Mirage. OG won the pistol round to take an early lead on the defense going up 4-0. Snappi and company began to find openings on both sites as they got to a five-round winning streak, but it wasn’t quite enough, and OG took the advantage 8-7 in the first half. In the second half, ENCE struggled to stabilize their defense, and valde’s troops snowballed to a 16-10 victory, only allowed two rounds.

Moving onto Ancient, the action started much similar to Mirage. OG took the early and got off to a strong 5-0 start but only managed two more as ENCE began to lock things down, the half ended 8-7 in ENCE’s favor. In the second half, it was plain sailing as mantuu and company converted the pistol and cruised to a 9-16 victory over ENCE.

The second Bo3 of the day at BLAST Premier Spring Groups, saw the undefeated OG take on Ninjas In Pyjamas, who had eliminated the world's #1, Na'Vi, in their last matchup. The two sides now had to do fight each other for a spot in the Spring Finals.

The first team to choose a map was NIP, and they chose to play Overpass which has looked very solid for them at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups.

It was the CTs of OG that got off to the best start taking a massive early lead, with “mantuu” leading the way individually. A more deciding factor was the impeccable reads that came out of the OG side, which enabled them to stack bombsites and have very fast flanks, which led to them strangling the NIP offense. The Ninjas managed to take a measly three rounds before the break and now had to make a huge comeback.

OG continued their dominance in the second half and secured match point three rounds into the second half. OG didn’t manage to end it completely clean, as they did drop one more round to NIP, but were able to take the victory on Overpass at 16-4.

The second map up was Ancient and was picked by OG. It’s a map that has looked very strong for the new OG, and thus a very unsurprising pick.

A great start from IGL “hampus” facilitated an early lead for the CT-side Ninjas, and quickly they had secured four rounds, the same amount they managed to take through all of Overpass. But just as fast as the Swedes had taken the lead, they lost it again, to an OG that looked extremely coordinated. NIP ended the half on a happy note as they were able to take the last four rounds and go to halftime with an 8-7 lead.

The OG squad got off to a great start on their CT-side, retaking the lead with a three-round streak. With “hampus” calling a good T-side, and OG being a solid Ancient-team, the second half was very close and had several lead changes. It was the Ninjas who were finally able to pull away and secure map point at 15-12. OG almost pulled the game into overtime, but armed with nothing but pistols, NIP took the 30th round and won the map.

The deciding third map was none other than the legendary Mirage, and had NIP starting on the T-side, while OG started as the CTs.

After a nasty loss on their own map pick of Ancient, OG pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and took the first four rounds of the map, but answering right back were the Ninjas with six rounds of their own. The last part of the half was split right down the middle with OG taking three rounds, and NIP taking two, and they went to halftime at 8-7.

After switching to the CT-side NIP immediately extended their advantage to 13-7. OG started making a comeback look possible, but it was the Swedes that hit map- and match point at 15-11. The “nexa”-led squad managed to take it to the 30th round, and in the end, it was “niko” that secured overtime for OG.

Just like regulation, the start to overtime was extremely close, and OG barely managed two of the three rounds in the 1st half of overtime. The Ninjas managed to equalize after the half, but OG took the last two rounds and ran away with the victory at 19-17.

OG thereby secures a spot in the Spring Finals, while NIP will have to beat Na’Vi once again if they also want a spot in the Spring Finals.

It's the Group B Final! Four teams started the day, and now after five games, only two were left standing: OG and Astralis. The two Group B finalists also faced each other in their opening game of the day, where OG ran off with a convincing victory on Ancient. This time they had to face-up on the classic decider of Inferno, with OG starting on the CT-side while Astralis would have to penetrate the defense.

Just like on Ancient it was OG that got off to the best start after a defuse in the pistol round. The OG boys kept on adding round after round, not allowing Astralis any hope for the first seven rounds of the map. But when the Danes finally took a round win after eight rounds, they were there to stay. Ending the half with six rounds in a row, Astralis managed to make the first half as competitive as is possible, and the score at halftime was 8-7 in favor of OG.

Astralis equalized the score after winning the second-half pistol in a very rough retake, but OG answered right back with a round win of their own, which saw them take back the lead. But OG was not satisfied with just having the lead, they wanted to win. So led by "valde" they took every single round from that point, and the map ended at 16-8 in favor of OG.

After the two amazing opening games of Group B, the winners' match of MIBR vs. OG was up next, and it could almost only be a fantastic game judging by what the teams showed in their opening matches. The map that was agreed upon was Ancient, the same map that OG had just played versus Astralis, and it was up to the Brazilians to show that they could do a better job than Danes did. OG started out on the CT-side, just like the previous game.

MIBR started out great as they convincingly took the pistol round, but their success was short-lived as OG were able to win the following force-buy round. Led by the flourishing duo of "valde" and "flameZ" who both had huge multi-kills, OG dominated the start of the game. MIBR kept fighting back with some great entries that also led to bomb plants, but "nexa" and "niko" had now started hard-fragging as well which made it so much harder for the Brazilians to hold the bombsites they had taken. "nexa" and co. went to the break with a commanding lead of 13-2.

The second half pistol much-needed went the way of MIBR, who were now four for four in pistol rounds on the day.
