Spirit get their first victory at ESL Pro League S14

A dominant sweep from Team Spirit as they take the series against Bad News Bears 2-0 to stay alive in the tournament.

The action began on Bad News Bears’ pick on Inferno, a map that Spirit only had a 17% win rate on before the match. However, it didn’t look like one of their worst maps as they went on to crush the American side. degster and company cruised to an 10-5 lead with confidence before halftime and showed no signs of slowing down in the second half. The Russians were first out of the gate in the second half, taking the first four rounds, before Bad News Bears managed to get their sixth round on the scoreboard. That didn’t affect Spirit, who quickly ripped apart their opponent’s defense to secure the remaining rounds and close the map 16-6. 

Spirit brought their momentum to Dust2, where they continued to shine as a team. The Russian squad stormed to an 11-1 lead in the first half, with the whole team firing on all cylinders, before BNB finally could add two rounds on the scoreboard. In the second half, BNB managed to win some force buy rounds that helped them lower their deficit before Spirit decided to close out the map, 16-8.
