s1mple on FURIA matchup: I’m wondering if I’ll be able to hear the game
The 25-year-old Ukrainian AWPer gave his thoughts on the upcoming matchup against FURIA at the IEM Rio Major in an interview with HLTV.
Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and company from NAVI are taking upon FURIA today at 21:30 (CET) in the quarter-finals of the IEM Rio Major 2022. Many CS:GO fans are seeing the Ukrainian-Russian squad as the favorites to take the victory, but it will definitely not be a walk in the park for NAVI who are not just going to be up against FURIA, but also 18.000 loud Brazilians that will be cheering for the home-town favorites in the Jeunesse Arena.
In an interview with HLTV.org, in which NAVI’s AWPer talked about his team’s run at the Major so far, he also commented on the upcoming matchup against the Brazilians, saying he’s wondering if he’ll even be able to hear the game because of the fans.
“I’m just wondering if I’ll be able to hear the game. I know they will support FURIA until the end of the tournament, but hopefully we’ll win and then they’ll start to support us until the end. The match-up itself, we have a good map pool against them.”
I think they don’t have a 100% winrate map like Bad News Eagles had, that they scared FaZe into banning it. I don’t think FURIA has a map like that. It’ll be curious to see how they start playing against us, they’ll probably try to play fast because the crowd will be cheering and they’ll go all the way, but let’s see, let’s see how it goes.
The 25-year-old Ukrainian also revealed which team he wants to play against if they manage to take down the Brazilians and secure a spot in the semi-finals.
I want to play Heroic because we always play against them at the Major and it’s always fun.
