Pimp on HUNDEN’s future: Astralis is the obvious choice
The Danish expert explains that he’s sure that the controversial coach will continue to work in CS:GO
Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen has been the talk of the town today in CS:GO as The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has announced that they have lifted his ban, and therefore is eligible to attend tournament held ESIC-member events, such as ESL and BLAST.
HUNDEN hasn’t commented whether he will continue his coaching career in CS:GO. However, if you ask CS:GO expert and analyst, Jacob “Pimp” Winneche, he’s assured that HUNDEN is not done in CS:GO, he explains to TV 2 Sporten.
- I absolutely believe HUNDEN has a future in Counter-Strike. He is a huge capacity and has historically been a guarantee of success. The obvious choice is of course Astralis, who have previously been out to say that they do not see a problem in taking on HUNDEN after a ban has ended. Now that it is a reality, it will be exciting to see if it is also true, Pimp stated.
A questionable reputation
In the comment to TV 2, Pimp also touched on what this scandal has meant for HUNDEN’s name and status in the scene.
- (…) Many people look at him with disgust. He has become the image of the whole big cheating scandal that destroyed CS:GO a year and a half ago. Whether that's fair or not – considering today's news – is debatable, but his reputation is tarnished, to say the least.
Astralis up next?
Pimp pointed towards Astralis as the most obvious choice for HUNDEN to join in the future. One would think it sounds a bit unrealistic and unreasonable but these two facts may put it in a new perspective.
1. Astralis is currently without a coach after benching Martin “trace” Heldt.
2. Astralis has publicly stated that “they won’t have any second thoughts about offering him a position as an analyst or the like”, they told Dexerto back in August 2022.
