NaVi wins the brawl against Vitality and advance to the Semi-finals
s1mple and company will face Gambit in the semi-finals after beating Vitality 2-0!
The big clash at the Avicii Arena has concluded, seeing NaVi takedown Vitality 2-0 to book themselves the last ticket to the semi-final of PGL Major Stockholm. NaVi hasn’t lost on Nuke since May, and with a record at 17-0, it will be hard to see who can beat them.
The action of the quarter-final started with Vitality’s map pick of Dust 2. NaVi started strong on the CT side, where they quickly bounced back after losing the pistol to create a 3-1 lead. Vitality picked themselves up and equalized the score at 3-3, but NaVi quickly answered back, taking the next two rounds. However, that lead did not last long, and it was shox with a 1v2 clutch who emerged on top at the end of the half, narrowly edging ahead by one round heading into the side swap. It all began to fall apart for Vitality on the CT side as NaVi kicked into another gear, the CIS side ran away with rounds while the French squad struggled to get into the half. After allowing Vitality to secure only three rounds in the second half, s1mple and his team swiftly closed out the map 16-11.
The second map of the series was to be played on Nuke, picked by NaVi. The Russians set the early tempo, taking the pistol round and continuing to dominate their T side, leading to a 0-3 advantage. ZywOo and company put up a wall on the CT-side once they got weapons in hand, winning seven rounds in a row. Vitality kept their momentum and was able to stop s1mple from racking up kills. However, NaVi managed to keep themselves in the match with a string of rounds towards the end of the half. Despite Vitality stringing together five rounds on the T side, they were never able to break NaVi, where B1T and electronic led the way in a great CT side to close the map 16-13, to take the series.
