NAVI and s1mple are the champions of BLAST Premier Global Final!
NAVI has finally done it! The CIS giants clinched a quick 2-0 victory in the grand final to secure the title as BLAST Premier Global Final champions and $600.000 in prize earning.
An exciting grand final bo3 at BLAST Premier Global Final between Natus Vincere and Astralis saw the former squad taking a 2-0 victory, earning the title as champions, and $600.000 in prize earning coming all the way from the lower bracket.
The best-of-three series began with NAVI’s victory on Nuke where the CIS giants delivered a strong defense on CT-side and remained in the lead from the beginning of second half. But the opener wasn’t without bright moments from their adversaries.
Nuke kicked off with NAVI taking a 4-0 lead on their T-side, but Astralis managed to break the Russian-Ukrainian side’s bank as soon as their money started rolling and turned their deficit into a 5-7 lead. The last 3 rounds of first half went NAVI’s way and s1mple in particularly took his momentum with him on the CT-side. NAVI and s1mple stormed to a 14-9 lead before gla1ve decided it was time for a clutching moment. The Danish captain saved his team as he won a crucial 1v2 situation with the bomb dropped, denying s1mple and company that 15th round, all in a force buy.
Once again, the IGL of Astralis found himself in a tough spot and 1v2 situation, with less than 1 second back on the clock, gla1ve managed to plant the bomb on B-site, trying to keep the hopes for overtime alive. But perfecto wanted it to end as he jumped trough single door and killed Astralis’ captain on close hands with his P250 in the air.
Things moved to Inferno next, where NAVI secured the title by completely dominating the mighty Danes. We saw 2 substitutions being made with Xyp9x moving in instead of Bubzkji, and B1T taking flamie’s spot. NAVI had the control throughout the first half and dominated even though Astralis managed to grab 5 rounds. Their dominating didn’t stop as they switched sides. NAVI didn’t give any mistakes away that could cause a comeback from Astralis and quickly closed out the series as the Danes didn’t manage to grab a single round on their T-side.
