NAVI claims first win at ESL Pro League after marathon map
It took 71 rounds of Mirage for NAVI to put down AGO.
In one of the weirdest games of Counter-Strike in a long time, Natus Vincere managed to win 2-0 in the opening match of Group D.
A 16-1 slaughter on Dust2 left little to no hope for AGO to fight back. Aleksandr 's1mple' Kostyliev went 21-4 on the map in K-D to kickoff his tournament on a high note. Nobody really noticed that NAVI was missing their in-game leader Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov due to a positive Covid-19 test.
But on Mirage that might have kicked in. Suddenly the Polish roster from AGO was much more competitive. A 7-0 lead in favor of the Poles was not enough to seal the deal in normal time, so the match went to overtime. Here one overtime replaced the other with none of the teams able to find a win streak to close off the other. In a wild game of Counter-Strike the two teams took each other out on 71 rounds of Mirage before NAVI finally managed to edge past AGO. Aleksandr 's1mple' Kostyliev delivered 65 kills during Mirage alone to underline the crazy match that just kept on going.
NAVI won the map 37-34 and is now 1-0 up in Group D of ESL Pro League.
