Natus Vincere takes down Cloud9 at IEM Katowice 2023
A struggling Cloud9 couldn't find the right footing.
Natus Vincere secured themselves their first victory at the IEM Katowice 2023 after they took down Cloud9 in a 2-0 fashion.
The mixed Russian and Ukrainian team started out as fire on Cloud9´s map pick as they gained a 7-1 lead on the CT side. Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov kept his team in the game by closing the gap to a 9-6 half in favor of NAVI. Despite a close comeback towards the end Denis "electroNic" Sharipov was too strong for the young and talented team. NAVI took Ancient 16-13.
Next up, Inferno. Starting out well again was NAVI who took the first pistol round and the following. Despite Cloud9 trying their best to make the game competitive with a 3-2 lead, the Ukanian roster with s1mple where just too strong on the T side securing themselves a 12-3 half. Cloud9 managed to take the second pistol round in and covert that into a 3-0 lead in the second half. NAVI bounced back and stopped the comeback from happening which lead to a 2-0 victory for NAVI.
