Heroic qualifies for DreamHack Masters!

With the opening rounds of the DreamHack Master Spring 2021 Closed Qualifiers having been played, Heroic and Cloud9 found themselves in the last hurdle for a spot at the main event. Both teams managed a win in the opening rounds, however, Heroic more comfortably than Cloud9. It was also Heroic to ultimately defeat their opponents, despite Cloud9 refusing to give up. With two narrow map wins Heroic defeated Cloud9 2-0.

Cloud9 had the choice of the first map in the Bo3-series and chose to begin on Inferno. Going back and forth and trading rounds it was difficult to see which of the two teams were the superior. In the end, however, it was the Heroic side to have the slight edge over their opponents. With a little help from their star-player Casper "cadiaN" Møller they managed to close out Inferno as close as possible at 16-14.

The second map was to be played on Vertigo, this time picked by Heroic. Once again neither of the two competitors gave an inch to their opponents. The CT-sided performances were dominant on Vertigo with Cloud9 ending their CT-sided half 10-5. Ultimately it was Heroic on their CT-sided half to finish the series. "cadiaN" once again proved why he is to be considered such a great player as he carried his team to a 16-13 win on Vertigo and a 2-0 series victory.

The 2-0 victory against Cloud9 means that Heroic will be taking part in the main event of DreamHack Master Spring 2021, whereas Cloud9 will have to continue their battle for such a spot.
