GODSENT completes upset by taking down Astralis!
Asger “Farlig” Jensen and company send Astralis down to the lower bracket at DreamHack Masters Winter.
With a new IGL, the GODSENT squad managed to take the series 2-1 after winning the decider against a shaky Astralis team who didn’t look well prepared or just weren’t expecting an aggressive playstyle from the opponents.
GODSENT started off the series very well by taking the first map on their Train pick as they managed to hold a good defensive line to deny Astralis any openings on their T-side. The game moved on to Dust2 and Astralis answered back by dominating the GODSENT squad out of the server with a 4-16 victory. On the decider, Astralis had a small lead 7-8, but a timeout wasn’t enough to get the Danes on the right lane as GODSENT kept composure and finished the game with style in an upset series victory.
Train: 16-12 (GODSENT)
Dust2: 4-16 (Astralis)
Nuke: 16-11 (GODSENT)
Despite the loss, Nicolai “device” Reedtz finished on top of the scoreboards with an overall rating of 1.13, 76.7 ADR, and a 54-46 score. His fellow countryman from the opponent team who goes under the name “Farlig” finished the game right below with a rating of 1.10 and was the most important player to lead his team to victory.
Astralis will face of Liquid in an elimination match, while GODSENT advances to the semi-finals where they will face off a strong looking mousesports squad, who won a convincing 2-0 series against Liquid today.
