Gambit through to the Grand Final after two huge comebacks
The Moscow based team overcame big deficits against Danish side AGF.
Gambit will face their countrymen from Spirit in the Grand Final at DreamHack Open, after a 2-0 victory against AGF Esport.
They had to work for it though. Being dubbed massively favourites beforehand, the Russian team struggled to live up to the hype.
On Inferno, AGF was dominating initially leading 11-4 at the break. But Gambit managed to reverse the score and force the match into overtime. Here the experience of the more seasoned Russian team gave them the last push to take the map.
The Danes were not beaten yet. On Dust2 they fought back and was leading again at halftime. But again the Danes fell short, after some spectacular plays from Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov.
The MVP of the match was Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov, who managed 63 kills on the two maps, while only dying 26 times.
Gambit took the map and the victory in the match with 16-13.
The Grand Final will take place tomorrow at 18.00, where they will face their countrymen from Spirit.
