Gambit send Heroic to lower bracket at BLAST World Final

Gambit are through to the upper semi-finals of the BLAST World Final event, following a 2-0 victory over the Danish squad from Heroic. That means nafany’s men from Gambit will face off against Team Liquid next, while cadiaN and the rest of his team will have to fight their way out of the lower bracket where they will take upon World #1 in NAVI. 

The Russian side from Gambit got off to a wonderful start on the CT-side of Inferno, leading 4-0 before Heroic added their first round to the scoreboard. That one round ended up being the only one Heroic won in the first half as nafany’s men dominated the rest of it, storming to a 14-1 halftime lead. cadiaN’s men suddenly woke up in the second half after the break and began their climb back from the massive deficit. The Danes managed to close the gap to just three rounds at 11-14 but got their comeback attempt denied when Gambit finally gathered enough confidence to secure the last two needed rounds. 

Vertigo saw a much closer fight between the two teams, but it was Gambit who came out on top in the end with a 16-10 scoreline after securing nine out of eleven rounds to wrap up the series on the back of a convincing CT side. Gambit’s interz who usually doesn’t top frag for the team, finished on top of the scoreboard with a 23-10 K/D and 1.51 Rating to help his team get a perfect start to the event.

Gambit's next match will be against Team Liquid in the upper bracket On Thursday at 16:30 (CET), while Heroic's next match will be against NAVI in the lower bracket on Wednesday at 19:30 (CET).
