Gambit secure first victory in ESL Pro League
The Russian-side from Gambit took down MIBR in their opening match at the prominent event.
Gambit have secured their first three points in ESL Pro League following a 2-1 victory over the Brazilian-side from MIBR. Surprisingly, the two teams traded each other’s map picks of Inferno and Overpass to leave a Train decider to settle the contest. There, Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov and Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov came alive with impactful performances to take home the victory for their team.

The IEM Katowice champions started the series in a strong fashion as they stormed to a 12-2 CT-side lead on the opener right before halftime. The Brazilian squad managed to hit back with a flurry of rounds to lower the deficit to four rounds, but the Russian-side quickly managed to grab the last three needed rounds, closing out the map 16-9.
MIBR bounced back on the second map of the series after losing their own map pick. The Brazilians didn’t let the poor performance on Inferno affect them as they came out on top of a hard-fought battle on Overpass to tie up the series 1-1 by closing the map 16-13.
Train played host to the decider, where the duo of nafany and Ax1Le ran riot and led the charge for their team. The Russian-side closed out the map 16-8 in a controlled manner to wrap up the series 2-1.
