Gambit destroy G2 to reach IEM Summer Grand Final
The 19-year-old sh1ro was the standout player for Gambit today, as they steamroll over G2 in the semi-final.
This Saturday evening, the Russian youngsters from Gambit took on Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and G2 in the second semi-final at IEM Summer, which would determine the last grand finalist in tomorrows title-deciding matchup.
The match should quickly prove to be a very one-sided match, as we saw Gambit take control of the server from the very start. By a well-playing Gambit side, led by Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov, the Russians managed to set up a crushing 13-2 half, through an astounding offensive display on the T-side of Vertigo.
The first map was closed down by Gambit in quite the dominant style with a 16-10 score, even though G2 presented a better performance after the switch.
In a complete replicate of Vertigo, nafany and company commenced the second map with a 13-2 score, which saw G2’s surprising attempt of a so-called “punish pick” of Ancient, fall to the ground. The 2-0 result was cemented with a likewise dominant second half, which means Gambit are ready for another Grand Final.
