Gambit defeat Entropiq and advance to the playoffs

The stakes were high when Gambit clashed with Entropiq in an important Bo3-series. For Gambit qualification to the playoffs was at stake, whilst Entropiq needed three points in order to secure their life in the ESL Pro League Season 14. However, things didn’t go as planned for Entropiq as the CIS monsters of Gambit proved to be too difficult a task for them to handle. Despite a valid and close attempt on Dust 2, it was clear that Gambit were the better team and without too much hassle they closed out the Bo3-series in just two maps. The 2-0 victory means that a still undefeated Gambit roster will join Liquid in the playoffs guaranteed.

The first map was the pick of Entropiq. Throughout their run at ESL Pro League Season 14, Dust 2 has been their home ground, and for good reasons. Playing extremely aggressive and reliant on “A long” they have managed to catch various teams off guard with pinpoint precise executions. Gambit, however, isn’t just any team and quickly adapted to the playstyle of Entropiq. Despite a valid attempt from the underdogs, they would have to see themselves bested by Gambit at the scoreline of 16- 13.

The second map of the series was Gambit’s map pick and to none’s surprise, they opted for Vertigo. Whilst things looked plausible for Entropiq on Dust 2 it seemed an almost impossible task for Entropiq to overcome a Gambit roster with a 100% win rate in the past three months on Vertigo. Exactly that proved to be the case as Gambit came flying out of the gates and never slowed down for one second. At the scoreline of 10-5, all Gambit had to do in the second half was to close out the series, and they managed to do exactly that without too much difficulty. Only allowing Entropiq five rounds in the second half Gambit took home Vertigo at the scoreline of 16-10.
