fnatic eliminate IHC from ESL Pro League

IHC took upon fnatic in a group A 6th-7th decider match. The losing team is eliminated. The winner of the series is set to face Eternal Fire for a last chance to qualify for the ESL Pro League Season 17 playoffs.

Starting the series on Inferno, IHC came out dominating the mixed European team. Seven rounds in and IHC gained themselves a 6-1 lead on the favored CT side. However, Fnatic bounced back and showed why they were the favorites going into the match. The Swedish team took the last eight out of eight possible to win the first half 9-6. Switching over to the CT side, fnatic was the dominant team. Led by William "mezii" Merriman fnatic secured the first map 16-9.

Next up, Overpass. Similar to the first map IHC came out pressing the speeder. The Mongolian team won the first round and the following two, but once again fnatic managed to strike back and win the first four full-buy rounds. With an 8-7 scoreline in favor of IHC, fnatic can switch over to the CT side with great confidence in their Overpass defense. With Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen playing well on the CT side, IHC had to climb a huge wall in order to bring the game into map three. But, IHC brought the game into overtime and secured themselves the victory on Overpass after a well-fought match by the Mongolian team who took the map 19-17.

Nuke was left open as the decider. Starting off on the CT side was fnatic, the mixed European team won the first half 10-5 on the favored CT side where they found great success with the push and peek inside lobby. On the T side, fnatic played some great CounterStrike to close out the game 16-5 and the series 2-1.

fnatic will face Eternal Fire for a spot in the playoffs later today at 19:30 (CET).
