Brazilian top team out of IEM Katowice 2023!
FURIA got eliminated during their deciding match at IEM Katowice 2023.
The Brazillian team FURIA and the mixed European team ENCE both had a tough afternoon yesterday after they got kicked out of the IEM Katowice.
Furia played against the world's number #36 in IHC in an elimination match where only one got to move on to the IEM Katowice group stages. Furia started out well on the CT side of NUKE but after a weak T side, the clear favorites managed to lose map one 16-14. Moving on to their own map pick. IHC kept on playing insanely well and after a close game with rounds going back and forth, map two came down to an overtime win for FURIA.
Anubis came out as the deciding map, and after what looked like a great T-side from arT and co. you would believe that they could close out the game on the CT side, but IHC took things into their own hands and dominated the world's number #9 by taking ten out of eleven possible rounds on the T side. FURIA lost 2-1 against a much weaker opponent.
Furia played with no confidence which they haven't done since they took a tough loss at the home ground during the IEM Major in Brazil.
IHC is moving on to the group stage where they will take upon Team Liquid in their first game tonight at 19:30 (CET)
