ENCE announce plans for new academy program
The Finns are set to be the latest organization to form a talent program at the top of CS:GO.
ENCE has just announced the plans for the creation of a brand new CS:GO academy program. The big organization states that they have looked to invest in the next Finnish generation for a while, however, now they feel ready in the quest “to find and guide tomorrow’s superstars to develop not only as players but as people and future professionals"
General Manager at ENCE, Niklas “Willkey” Ojalainen believes that the conditions for Finnish CS:GO talents has been lacking, which is something he and ENCE are trying to change with the establishment of an academy program.
- Building an academy program has been in our sights for a long time already, hoping to one day produce future talent for our main roster, Ojalainen stated and continued:
- Last year, as we rebuilt our CS:GO team, we quickly realized that we don’t have the options to build a fully Finnish roster to take us where we needed to be as an ESL Pro League partner team. Building an academy program has been in our sights for a long time already, hoping to one day produce future talent for our main roster. After a successful transition period in 2021 to an international main roster, we are ready to start building the academy program on top of our existing infrastructure.

Following the trend
In recent years, several big CS:GO organizations has decided to build their own academy team or program. Heavy hitters like Astralis, Fnatic, NAVI and MOUZ all have academy teams playing in lower-tiers, where especially MOUZ’s (MOUZ NXT) has proved out to be a very successful story.
