ENCE advance to Legends Stage and TYLOO eliminated
ENCE secure a place in the Legends Stage of the 2021 PGL Major in Stockholm
In the fourth round of the Swiss Round system, two Bo3-series between BIG vs ENCE and Movistar Riders vs TYLOO took place. Both Bo3-series had something on the table as ENCE could secure a spot within the Legends Stage and TYLOO had to see themselves fighting for their life at PGL Major.
ENCE vs BIG (2-1)
The first of the two earlier Bo3-series saw BIG and ENCE lock horns in an intense match, where Legend status was up for grabs for the two teams. The first map of the Bo3-series was the choice of BIG and the German team opted for Dust 2 as their home ground. The choice of Dust 2 proved to be a clever pick as it was BIG to take home the first map of the Bo3-series at the scoreline of 16-10.
The second map was picked by ENCE and meant that the series was headed to Mirage for the second map. Here it was clear which team had the upper hand, as ENCE proved to have an edge over their German opponents. With "dycha" leading the charge, the European roster managed to tie things up with a 16-8 victory.
The third and final map of the Bo3-series was to be played Nuke. Posting a solid CT-sided performance on Nuke, followed by an even more impressive T-sided half it was ENCE to claim the victory and thereby also their Legend status after a 16-10 victory on Nuke and a 2-1 victory against BIG.
Movistar Riders vs TYLOO (2-1)
Everything was to play for when Movistar Riders and TYLOO faced each other in yet another intense Bo3-series. The first map was picked by the Spanish roster of Movistar Riders and meant a trip to Inferno. Despite being an intense and close affair, with each half as close as possible, it was ultimately the Movistar Riders to take home Inferno at the scoreline of 16-14.
The second map of the series was the choice of TYLOO and took place on their home ground in Mirage. Once again the Chinese roster proved why they are to be feared on Mirage and managed a comfortable victory on the map at the scoreline of 16-7.
The third and final map saw the two teams lock horns on Vertigo. Just like Inferno, it was as close as one could have imagined with both teams giving it their all. Going to overtime it was never clear as to which the better team was on Inferno until the final rounds of the map. In the end, it was the Spanish roster of Movistar Rider to pull through and secure their Major life. At the scoreline of 19-6, they claimed the 2-1 victory and eliminated Chinese TYLOO from the Major event.
