device: My words have been taken out of context, in an attempt to create a division between myself and Astralis
The new NIP star believes that some people have created a false narrative about his recent statements about Astralis.
The Counter-Strike phenomenon and 4-timer Major winner, Nicolai “device” Reedtz has been the talk of the town in the CS:GO community for some days now. First, it was because of his shock transfer from Astralis to Ninjas in Pyjamas, which quickly got dubbed as “the biggest transfer in CS:GO history”.
This week, device ended up on the front pages again, owing to some surprising and a bit of attacking statements from the Danish AWPer. In a vlog on NIP’s YouTube, device stated that he and Astralis only “were just lucky with the timings and how we read the meta” and “you (NIP red.) are five steps ahead regarding how you practise and prepare.
However, it seems like the situation is a bit more complex than that.
Following the comments in the vlog, we have talked with device, through his representatives, where the 25-year old Dane explains that his words have been misunderstood and taken out of context, to try to create a division between him and Astralis.
- I'm disappointed that certain people in the media have decided to selectively frame comments that were intended with humility and respect towards my new teammates; not a slight towards my previous organisation.
To be clear, my words have been twisted out of context, seemingly in an attempt to manufacture division between myself and Astralis. As I have recently stated, I have nothing but good words to say about my time at the organisation and the people there will always be family to me.
My move to NiP was a decision made purely on sporting integrity, professional ambition and personal circumstances. I'm looking forward to focussing on this next chapter of my journey and creating a legacy in the sport that I love.
