device after leaving Astralis: We didn’t really do things perfectly; We were just lucky with the timings regarding the meta
The newly equipped NIP star did not hold back when he talked about his former team.
On Friday last week, Astralis shocked the entire CS:GO world when they 12:00 (CET) that day, announced the departure of their superstar and arguably one of the best players in the game, Nicolai “device” Reedtz. The powerful AWPer will instead represent the iconic Swedes from Ninjas in Pyjamas.
The following days after the announcement has been filled with tributes and appreciations post from Astralis fans and the Danish org itself, where they honour their long-standing sniper. However, it looks like device has decided to do things a bit differently. Because the 25-year AWPer has created some stir after a number of critical and severe statements regarding Astralis and how they did things.
In a vlog on NIP's YouTube channel, device has made some surprising comments about his former team, where the Dane explains that he thinks that NIP is way ahead of Astralis on several parameters.
- One of the things I don’t want to bring is the know-how of doing things better. We (Astralis) didn’t really do things perfectly in our team. We were just lucky with the timings and how we read the meta… I don’t want to come in and change a lot of stuff.
I’m really impressed with the setup. For at least where I come from, you are five steps ahead regarding how you practise and prepare. - Two statements from device on "NIP Backstage" on Youtube.
Danny "zonic" Sørensen has posted the following Tweet after the vlog has come out. The Astralis coach hasn't confirmed whether it was because of device's comments or something else.
