Danish Destroyer does it again! GODSENT upsets Heroic
Heroic is out of DreamHack Masters Winter after a shock defeat.
The Danish #2 team in the world had their problems with the new GODSENT roster from start. On Inferno, the Danish team ran into their countryman on the other side Asger “Farlig” Jensen. The Dane contributed to a commanding lead for GODSENT throughout the map, where Heroic never really had any control of the series.
Heroic needed some fresh air in the match, and what else could be better than Vertigo? Despite losing the first two rounds, the Danes were better equipped to handle the GODSENT team, who took a surprising 2-0 victory the last time, the two teams faced each other.
Heroic went to break with a 10-5 lead after a massive performance from TeSeS, who made 22 kills during the first half. But on GODSENT’s T-side it all changed. It went from 5-10 to 12-10 for GODSENT, who had the opportunities to win the match.
But Heroic came back and took the victory on Vertigo 16-14. TeSeS ended the map with 33-13 in K/D.
The deciding map was set on Train.
Here the match turned into a brawl. GODSENT started as a CT-side and had numerous clutch-situations going their way. The upset loomed with a 10-5 lead in favor of the underdogs.
The second half did not go the way of the Danes. For the second time in a row, Heroic was upset by GODSENT, who have now beaten all the Danish teams at DreamHack Masters Winter including Astralis and North.
Heroic - GODSENT 1-2 (10-16, 16-14, 10-16)
GODSENT will now face mousesports in the Semi-Finals.
