So far undefeated Players and Astralis faced each other in the first clash of the 2-0 teams. With the map picks being Ancient (Astralis), Dust2 (Players), and Inferno, the analysts were betting that this Bo3 would go the distance. 

The match kicked off on Ancient where Astralis had the difficult task of starting on the T-side. The Danes struggled a bit, to begin with, going down 6-1 but ended up recovering nicely with seven rounds before halftime.

Astralis now only had to win nine rounds on a map that they have been very proficient on in the last couple of months, but they weren't able to do so as "Ax1Le" and co. delivered an impressive offensive performance and took the map 16-13.

The action continued on Dust2 where the story of Ancient pretty much repeated itself. The Players delivered a good T-side despite a bad start to the game but were not able to replicate that same success on the CT-side as "gla1ve" carried his squad over the finish line at 16-12.

With both maps unexpectedly being stolen away, the teams were now headed to Inferno.

Starting on the T-side, the Players enjoyed a bit of early success as they took the first four rounds before Astralis were able to put their names on the board. The Danes, fortunately, managed to put some rounds together themselves, and only one round separated the two teams at the half.

As soon as the Players hit the CT-side everything was done and dusted. They completely destroyed the Danes who were only able to take a single round in the second half, resulting in a 16-8 win for the CIS-squad.

The first match between the 1-0 teams saw the Players take on Anonymo on Overpass. The Players comfortably defeated Sangal in the opening round, while Anonymo surprised everyone as they took down G2.

After losing the pistol round, the Players quickly answered back with a dominating string of rounds to put them up 8-1 on the T-side. The Polish squad was, fortunately, able to recover nicely and make it a very competitive match at 9-6 at halftime.

The Poles, who seemed unimpressed by the superpower they were up against, took the first three rounds after the break, and it was once again a tie game. This was when the fun stopped for Anonymo, as they got absolutely annihilated by the Players in the last eight rounds of the game.

With the win, the Players go 2-0, while Anonymo sit at 1-1.

It ended up being two confident victories for Astralis and Players in their respective opening round matches at PGL Major Antwerp Europe RMR B.

Astralis were set to square up against the rather unknown CIS side ASG on Ancient for their Bo1 matchup. Here the Danes displayed the major disparity between the two sides by steamrolling over ASG’s T side in the first half.

After an extremely one-sided 12-3 half, gla1ve and company settled the series with a likewise dominant second half.

There are eight spots left for the Antwerp Major next month. All of them are on the line in the European RMR Group B.

Here we give you a run-through of the teams, that we have placed in different brackets; Favorites, Contenders, and Outsiders. This article will feature our four picks for the favorite category.

 will enter the qualification tournament as one of the favorites to go 3-0 and lock in one of the three legends spots from Group B. Despite their lackluster run at the ESL Pro League, the team should be able to make it through without any problems.

Player to watch: {cflag:FI} Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen missed the start of ESL Pro League with Covid-19. All eyes will be on the Finnish in-game leader to see, if he can find the right solutions for his team. 

 are somehow always among the best teams in a tournament. With debutant Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin on the roster, it will be very interesting to see, how the Swedes will fare without a designated AWP'er. But in Hampus "hampus" Poser, We trust! The in-game leader has shown, that he is more than capable of leading the team to success despite several roster changes within the last year. 

Player to watch: {cflag:SE} Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin will play his first official game for NIP since he joined from Fnatic. A huge move for the Swedish golden boy.

 is the third team on our list. A dangerous team to underestimate, which should be impossible after their fine run at the ESL Pro League Season 15, where they made it all the way to the Grand Final. But can they repeat it? Have their opponents learned their lesson, or can Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and his team continue to impress? We believe in the roster, and could see them lock in one of the Legend spots.

Player to watch: {cflag:PL} Aleksander "hades" Miskiewicz topped the leaderboard at ESL Pro League with the most clutches and AWP kills.

 (Gambit) in the upper bracket. The youngsters would normally be one of our top favorites, but since the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian team has been a little bit of their normal A-game, which can hardly surprise anyone given the circumstances. Can they recover their 2021 form? 

Player to watch: {cflag:RU} Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov played an insane ESL Pro League Season 15. Can the young Russian AWP'er continue his form, Players will be a top 3 team in this group.

ESL Pro League Group C has come to a close, with the underdogs Movistar Riders beating group favorites, Players, Liquid, BIG, GODSENT, and Party Astronauts to end the group stage with a 5-0 record. 

Players and Liquid were secured 3-1 records before Sunday. The CIS squad qualified with the second seed as they beat the North Americans in a 2-0 series with an impressive performance by ⁠sh1ro⁠ as the 20-year-old topped the scoreboard with a 1.72 rating and 105 ADR.

The series started on Liquid map pick of Dust2, where Players started on the defense and outplayed Liquid. Players gained the rounds and the economy as well, thanks to an outstanding performance from sh1ro. The remainder of the half completely went the way of Players, ending the half with a 14-1 scoreline. After halftime, Players quickly closed out the map winning the two first rounds to secure the first map of the series 16-1.

Overpass was up next after being selected by Players, who started strong and secured the opening round. Liquid went on a run in the latter part of the first half, winning the last three rounds to take the lead before halftime 8-7. The second half started with Players winning the first seven rounds to retake the lead. Liquid tried to make a comeback, but it was all too late as they only got three more rounds before Players closed out the map 16-11 and the series 2-0.
