Big teams fight for only two spots at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown
Four top ten teams in the world are back in action at the Showdown.
Today the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown kicks off.
Heroic is set to start the show with their opening round match against POGGERZ at 12.30 CEST.
The tournament will be played as a single-elimination bracket with best of 3 matches. Six teams join the tournament from BLAST Premier Fall Groups, where G2, OG, Liquid, Complexity, Evil Geniuses, and MIBR all have to redeem their lackluster performance in the initial qualification tournament for the BLAST Premier Fall Finals in Copenhagen.
Both Heroic and Virtus.pro have been invited to the tournament to further complicate the route to qualification. Alongside them, we also find Movistar Riders and Fiend, who both took everyone by surprise with their playoff run at IEM Fall Europe last week.
In the opening round of the single-elimination bracket, the teams have been seeded which in theory should allow the bigger teams to advance to the Quarter-Finals. The two most interesting matchups on paper are Complexity vs MIBR and Virtus.pro vs Movistar Riders.
Who will make it to Copenhagen?
Here is our guess of the final result.
In the upper part of the bracket, Heroic seems to have found the easiest way to the Semi-Final. Here they are likely to face OG in a battle for a ticket to BLAST Premier Fall Finals. In the lower bracket, we have G2 as a solid contender for one of the two spots in the Semi-Final, while Virtus.pro and Team Liquid will have to fight for the right to face NiKo and the rest of the G2 gang.
We predict Heroic and G2 to qualify for the Royal Arena in Copenhagen for BLAST Premier Fall Finals.
