zonic responds to rumors: I love these guys and I love the team
In a live Instagram video, the Astralis coach responded to the ongoing rumors about his future on the team.
Danny "zonic" Sørensen has been the synonym with Astralis since he founded the team in January 2016 with the players. Since then "zonic" has been the man behind the most succesfull Organization in Counter-Strike history with four Majors won.
2021 has not been a year to remember so far for the Organization. No trophies, and the departure of Nicolai "device" Reedtz to Ninjas in Pyjamas has underlined a tough year for Astralis and all the supporters. To make things worse, HLTV reported Sunday, that the legendary coach's future on the team was in doubt.
Yesterday Danny "zonic" Sørensen commented on the rumors in a livevideo on Instragram.
- I am here with the boys. I love these guys and I love the team. I really want to strike back now we are back at LAN. I am just focusing on this tournament, and I want to help the team do as well as possible. It has been way too long since Astralis has been close to doing what I know this team can do, zonic said.
He further sparked optimism with his view of the preparations going into IEM Cologne.
- I think that we have been improving over the last weeks. We have prepared five maps instead of the normal six. We have left out one of the maps, that we feel really comfortable on in order for us to really get going on our map pool. It has been going extremely well in practice actually, the Danish coach stated.
Astralis is already qualified for the main tournament and will have to wait for the Play-in to conclude, before they know, who they will face.
