Team Spirit ready for IEM Rio
The CIS team played an excellent match against Bad News Eagles to qualify in style.
Team Spirit was on fire in their matchup against Bad News Eagles.
The CIS roster has at times been a bit shaky at the EU RMR tournament, but in their first best-of-three match at the event, Spirit showed their worth. Spirit kicked off the match with a superb T-side on Nuke. Boris 'magixx' Vorobiev was unstoppable with 18 kills on the T-side alone! Spirit took home Nuke 16-6.
On Mirage it was the same story, but now with a very solid CT side in the first half for Spirit repeating the score from the first map with an 11-4 lead at the break. But Bad News Eagles were not going to go down without a fight. The Balkans calmed themselves down and produced a stellar defense to put Spirit under maximum pressure. But after a five-round win-streak for BNE, Spirit finally managed to put an end to the resilient Eagles and won the map and match.
It is not yet known, whether Spirit will be in contention for the Legend spot, but until now, Spirit can be pleased with the fact, that the team is ready for IEM Rio in November.
Bad News Eagles will get another chance to qualify tomorrow.
