Team Spirit advance to the semi-finals ahead of FURIA!

Nothing less than a ticket to the Semi-finals of the PGL Major 2022 in Antwerp was on the line when FURIA and Team Spirit locked horns in an exciting Quarter-final. Going into the PGL Major 2022, few would have predicted that Team Spirit would be just as dominant as they were in the Group Stage, however, thanks to great performances from main AWP'er "degster" and the rest of the Team Spirit players, they have managed to make it all the way to the Quarter-finals. Here they were presented with the difficult task of "arT" and his troops. Despite their opponents, the aggressive Brazilians are never to be counted out of any Bo3-series. Whilst FURIA were the favorites going into the brawl, a different outcome became reality. Team Spirit managed to close out the Bo3-series in just two maps and with a confident victory on Ancient, the CIS dark horse could celebrate a ticket to the Semi-finals where they are matched with the iconic FaZe roster.

The first map of the Bo3-series was picked by FURIA and saw the brawl kick off in the heights of Vertigo. Known to be a strong suit for the Brazilians and especially a map that "arT" is known to dominate from the short position on the A-bombsite, it seemed a tough task for the Spirit boys to overcome. Starting on the T-side, the arguably more difficult side of Vertigo, Team Spirit proved more ready to take on FURIA on Vertigo than expected. A solid T-sided half from the CIS-roster of Team Spirit managed to secure 7 rounds, making the scoreline 8-7 at halftime. As the second half kicked off and the two rosters switched sides, Team Spirit proved even scarier. Thanks to a stellar performance "s1ren", securing impactful multi-kills on defense, as well as "Patsi" managing to shut down the threat of "arT", Team Spirit began to expand their lead on Vertigo, slowly but surely. Ultimately the defense of Spirit proved too much for the Brazilians to break down and at the scoreline of 16-12, it was "degster" and his troops to claim the first map of the Quarter-finals.

The second map of the brawl between the two teams was, of course, picked by Team Spirit and saw the two rosters take a trip into the jungle. Whilst Ancient was the pick of Team Spirit it was by no means an easy pick against FURIA, as both teams have proved potent on Ancient as of late. This also proved to be the case once the map had kicked off as both teams traded rounds back and forth and ended the first half at the close scoreline of 8-7. Whilst the first half was as close as possible between the two rosters, the second half was all Team Spirit. A dominating CT-sided half from Team Spirit, led by the star player "degster" was simply too much for FURIA to handle. Only allowing the Brazilians a single round in the second half of Ancient, it was Team Spirit to celebrate as they secured a ticket to the Semi-finals of the PGL Major 2022 in Antwerp with a 16-8 victory on Ancient.
