Ropz: "We learned to play CS the correct way"
Ropz talks about his entrance to the Counter-Strike professional scene, Karrigan, and much more!
Having spent 4 years with Mousesports at this current moment of time, Robin "ropz" Kool has become a stable in the roster and one of the absolute best players on the roster. Currently, he ranks as the best Mousesport player with an HLTV rating of 1.14, followed by his teammate David "frozen" Čerňanský. Not only in Mousesports is he a contender. Many people regard the young rifler as one of the world's absolute best lurkers in Counter-Strike.
In an interview with CSGO analyst Thorin, "ropz" talks about his upbringing in the professional Counter-Strike scene, former teammates, and how he has evolved as a player. On the topic of his entrance to the scene, "ropz" talks about how he was discovered and recruited. He explains that many of the professional players thought he was cheating, because of his impressive capabilities:
"I did get called out because I was making, to what it seemed to those pros, unreasonable plays, and unreasonable clutches. Just outplaying them in general. That was what caught their eye, and made them think I was cheating."
The attention the young "ropz" gained ultimately led him to Mousesports where he has grown to be one of the most promising talents in the world. After having tumultuous performances, it wasn't until Finn "karrigan" Andersen joined that they truly found their footing. Even after the recruitment of "karrigan" they faced a couple of months with lackluster performances. "ropz" explains that the team needed a third voice in addition to "karrigan" and "ChrisJ". He explains how he became that third voice:
"I think in time I started to be the person who stepped up, was more vocal, and gave the team another stable corner to fall back on."
"ropz" shows no sign of slowing down and at the age of only 21, we are sure to see many more highlights from the promising star of Mousesports in the near future!
