OG denies EG´s revenge
In the very anticipated return of a NA vs EU counterstrike-match, OG won the continental brawl.
With 2-1 victory OG handed a blow for Evil Geniusus’ hopes for glory in the Blast Premier Fall.
It was the first battle of a European vs North American team since February. It started of well for EG, who quickly went 5-1 ahead on Mirage. OG answered back with Valdemar “Valde” Bjørn Vangså in a commanding role. The Danish Riffler was the key-player for the Europeans, who caught up to the Americans, and managed to win eight maps in a row and take Mirage 16-9. Valde finished the map at 26-10 K/D-ratio and 1.57 rating.
On Inferno, picked by EG, the Americans faced trouble from the get-go. Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski dominated the server in the beginning, and gave OG an 8-2 lead.
It all looked like a deja-vu for the Americans, who lost twice to OG in their last two matchups. But midway through the first half of Inferno, they turned the match around.
Ethan “Ethan” Arnold and Vincent “Brezhe” Cayonte started to control the server, and made a remarkable comeback winning Inferno with 16-9.
Overpass was left as the deciding map. Again it was OG with the best start, but once more the Americans made a comeback. In a very even third map the margins fell out to the advantage of OG, who made the last push and secured a 16-14 victory in the end.
