mousesports coach lashes out at TO's and CSPPA owing to a "crazy schedule"
Do mithr have a fair point with his criticism?
8 best-of-3 matches in two days. For one sole team.
It sounds a bit unrealistic and tough, and something not many teams would desire, especially in a time where mental and physical health has been heavily discussed within esports and CS:GO.
However, that’s the current situation for mousesports. The German side is currently fighting a tough battle at the vital Flashpoint 3 Qualifier, which serves as a qualifier for the prestigious PGL Major in Stockholm later this year. But they are also competing at the qualifier for the prominent IEM Summer 2021, which means that mouz has a very tight match schedule. (See below the article)
Something, mouseports’ head coach, Torbjørn 'mithr' Nyborg believes is very problematic for him and the team. The Danish coach has on his Facebook published a statement where he criticises both the TO’s and the player association, CSPPA.
- It’s not right, that we're in a situation where we have to choose between dropping IEM, which is one of this year's big tournaments, or the major, which is the biggest. The tournament organizers have not found a solution for the overlap of their qualifications, and CSPPA has remained silent.
mithr continues by explaining why they can't just drop one of the two qualifiers.
- It's the major … of course we cannot drop a major. On the other hand, we are part of the ‘Louvre agreement’, and therefore a partner team with ESL, which makes it difficult for us to drop their tournament, and not to expect that it will risk damaging our cooperation with them.
The ‘Louvre Agreement’ is an exclusive deal between ESL and their partner teams, where the “founding teams will retain a long-term slot in the league”.
