Magisk after tough Astralis period: I want to get back to my old level
We have sat down with the profiled Dane to talk about a strugglesome time for the otherwise dominant roster.
The superstars from Astralis haven’t been up to their usual high standard lately, as the Danes have struggled to find their form here in 2021. The CS:GO titans are in a very rare title drought, with their recent tournament victory being back in December at IEM Global Challenge.
We have sat down with one of the key components on the Astralis roster, Emil “Magisk” Reif to talk about this tough period and how he and the team have experienced the last couple of months. A descent, you can’t hold Magisk accountable for, owing to his strong play and a 1.10 Rating since April this year.
In the interview, Magisk touches on his individual levels lately, where he still believes he can do better, even though being ranked as the best player on the team.
When Magisk arrived at Astralis back in 2018, it was clear for everyone that it was a match made in heaven, as the former North player quickly transformed into a true superstar and one of the best riflers in the world. Magisk and Astralis then went onto a historic and truly iconic run where they racked up three Majors in a row, cementing their name in the history books of CS:GO.
Magisk stats through the years:
2018: 1.16 Rating
2019: 1.17 Rating
2020: 1.10 Rating
2021: 1.05 Rating
Yesterday, Astralis suffered another devastating defeat against Gambit, which meant that Magisk and company were eliminated from the $250.000 IEM Summer. A match, where Magisk fought an outstanding battle as he presented a strong 1.19 Rating / 84.2 ADR, unfortunately, all in vain.
