Magisk after Major exit: We couldn’t find a consistent level
The CS:GO titans from Astralis never managed to rediscover their powerful and dominant levels of the past at the ongoing PGL Stockholm Major.
Astralis, the reigning Major title-holder and four-time winner of CS:GO’s most prestigious championship, will not be able to defend their honour at the ongoing PGL Stockholm Major, as the Danes suffered a devastating exit yesterday.
The 2-1 defeat against the utterly dominant Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and the rest of Vitality was Astralis’ third loss in the Legends Stage, which ultimately ended up being the final blow for Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander’s troops.
Yesterday’s elimination appeared to be an inevitable fact or destiny for Astralis, if you look at their performance and appearance throughout the tournament. The Danes didn’t really manage to set their mark on the Major, where inconsistency and blowout losses against NIP, Copenhagen Flames and Entropiq overshadow their otherwise impressive 3-0 run in the Challengers Stage after going down 0-2 in the start.
Something, Emil “Magisk” Reif and Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen also explain on Twitter following the exit.
- Fuuuuck man. We end our journey here at the PGL Major. Felt like we showed good moments, but in the end, we couldn’t find the consistent level. Sorry to all our fans, I promise you it hurts just as much for us, Magisk states, where dupreeh continues:
- Just wasn’t meant to be. We fought hard today but not enough. Eliminated and out of the major this time around. Not much to say really. It stings. Thanks for your support regardless - it meant a lot, especially with a very rocky tournament.
For the first time since September 2018, we're guaranteed to have a new Major champion
