gla1ve: Ending the spring season without a title will never be satisfactory for us
The Astralis captain looks back at a strugglesome first half of the year.
The iconic Danes from Astralis have played a huge role in the history of CS:GO, with the star-studded side being the most accoladed and successful team in the world. However, in 2021 and this online era, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and company haven’t presented their usual high level of CS.
In fact, right now Astralis experience one of their longest ever title droughts, as their last tournament win were back in December 2020 at IEM Global Challenge.
This is something gla1ve talks about in a recent interview with Astralis, where the in-game leader and captain touch on the newly concluded first-half of the CS:GO season.
- Let’s be honest; in Astralis it is never a success not to win titles. We can find many explanations, also good ones, but ending the spring season without a title will never be satisfactory to any of us.
It has been a difficult period, with only online tournaments where you have seen some teams perform extremely well, but where we have clearly not been in our right element. At the same time, we have lost one of the world's best players, which was something of an upheaval for all of us, gla1ve explains in an interview with Astralis.
Astralis lost their superstar AWPer Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz (holding the trophy) in April this year
- The break comes at a good time for us, but I am already looking forward to coming back and to work on all the stuff that is already on the drawing board. In Astralis we are used to never standing still, but the goal is always the same: We want to move forwards and we constantly aim to develop the team and the way we play, both in the short and the long run, gla1ve finish off.
